Guest guest
Newest Research On Why You Should Avoid Soy Category: Food and Restaurants Per Dr. Mercola this report compiled by Sally Fallon and Dr. Mary G. Enig is the most definitive document to date on why one should avoid soy. This is a MAJOR work and Dr. Mercola is hoping to pormote for the national media attention that it deserves. http://www.mercola.com/article/soy/avoid_soy.htm Here is the article index: ~ Soy also contains goitrogens - substances that depress thyroid function. ~ Soy Protein Isolate: Not So Friendly ~ Marketing The Perfect Food ~ Marketing Costs Money ~ FDA Health Claim Challenged ~ Soy And Cancer ~ Phytoestrogens: Panacea Or Poison? ~ Birth Control Pills For Babies ~ Dissension In The Ranks ~ Question Marks Over GRAS Status ~ The Next Asbestos? It's kind of a long read, but very educational. Paula MrandMrsM <tdbmgroups wrote: I was a very dedicated soy eater. Soy milk, Tofu, Beans, Tempeh, any way I could get it. I made much of it myself. We didn't want to eat dairy. I thought I was doing myself a favour by trying to prevent the need to use Hormone replacement therapy at menopause. I didn't experience menopause symptoms, but I did experience abnormal bleeding. After testing, it was found that I had endometrial cancer of the uterus. One complete hysterectomy later, my ovary was found to also have a malignant tumour. I was told that these things could possibly have been activated by an abundance of female hormones. Caused by soy? Speculation? Perhaps-I don't know. I don't want to make such a statement and I don't want to cause unwarranted fears, since I am no scientist. I just wouldn't want to take that chance again by eating so much soy if I had been aware of this concern before. I have since changed my diet radically to almost totally raw content. I noticed that so many prepared manufactured foods contain some form of soy. It seems to be all over, and not only in food. I have had tofu a few times since, but it scares me a little because my particular type of cancer is well-documented to recur. I hope that soy and as-yet-unknown other things don't play a part in that.
