Guest guest
Are you in a hot humid climate? We live in Yuma, AZ, so the only way to grow wheat grass without mold that I have found is to grow smaller trays with less seed. Since the seeds germination causes the heat, the less seed per inch, the less heat. I use just enough seed so that they are barely touching. What type of soil are you using? We also changed to hydroponics and growing medium of Vermiculite (which can be purchased at most nurseries), that helped a lot. If all else fails, cut the grass short or wash off the mold......Don't throw out the wheatgrass. Also, some seeds are not as good as others. You need to have a quality seed. The best place that I have found (they supply quite a few of the sprout/wheatgrass websites) is Wheat Montana _www.wheatmontana.com_ (http://www.wheatmontana.com) . Use their hard red wheat. It will tell you under the description that it is the best quality for wheatgrass. Seeds make a major difference. Feel free to e-mail me if you have questions. Guest guest
You know this discussion has been going on for a few days now and for the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would want to eat/drink/juice anything that has mold. And then what you are suggesting to spray on it will only be absorbed by the plant and then you will ingest it as well. Really scratching my head over this one...........
