Guest guest
The sister of one of the members on Roger's private forum did. She's certified now to teach Alissa's methods. Personally, for me, they concentrate too much on dehydrating. My daughter and her husband got her DVD and book. They lasted a little more than a month eating raw on her program. I've used a few of her recipes and I've ordered from her store but that's it. Guest guest
Hi Tanlathiel, I was certified as a raw chef through Alissa Cohen's program at the end of January, not through Alissa herself, but by a woman who graduated from her whole program named Vicki Rosenthal in Marina Del Rey, California. I also purchased her book and DVD, as well as a sprializer (to make zucchini pasta). I loved the 9 hours spent learning and sampling recipes; I was full the whole time without bloating or feeling tired - it was my first day 100% raw! But like Tommie says, Alissa Cohen's recipes do focus on dehydrating, perhaps because most people are beginners and dehydrating recipes make it seem easier to transition from the SAD diet. But I got lucky! Vicki originally had 6 students enrolled in her class, but by the time my mom and I showed up everybody else had postponed. So since I knew I wouldn't be dehydrating ever, I asked Vicki to customize the program to not include any of those recipes, nor any deserts since I don't care for sweets. She did dehydrate a small 'pizza' though, just for the sake of experience. If you sign up for the program, call the instructor and ask which day he/she would most likely have he least amount of students booked, or be spontaneous and call a few instructors in your area the morning of their class to find out if there are any cancellations and ask if he/she could focus less on dehydrating. -Tiffany Tanlathiel <jencorris wrote: Has anyone taken any of Alissa Cohen's classes?
