Guest guest
This week-end was really hard, and I was ready to give up completely on the idea of a raw food diet. It started with not feeling well on Friday, and that yucky feeling lasted all the way thru Sunday night including a migraine. What saved my raw journey? Two things. First Thursday I made a trip to the library to find any thing that I could read on raw diets. Turned up almost nothing. The one thing I did find was an audio version of John Robbins Diet for a New Amercia. There was also a video he had done. I checked out both and started listening to the book on the way home. I listened to it all week-end, even while feeling like dirt. THANK YOU to whom ever suggested it on this group last week, it really helped and it was just at the right time too! (wow his book is very good!) The second thing, was that this morning I woke up feeling fine! So much better, and thankful that I hadn't actually given up during those weak moments. Now for miscellaneous bits of news.... Saturday I tried a smoothie of apple juice, a frozen banana, and strawberries. It was good, until I tried to add the green powder stuff I got from the health food store. It must be an acquired taste.... one that I haven't acquired yet. Then the really great news.... our asparagus patch is in full swing. Tonight I had a wonderful meal out of asparagus. And enough in the fridge to repeat it again tomorrow! Life is Good! Guest guest
Yea, Leah! That's the spirit! Don't give up! And the green powder stuff isn't nearly as good as fresh greens. It may have a larger variety of greens and it's more concentrated but the fresh greens have the taste and all the vitamins. What good does it do if it tastes so bad you can't swallow it? I don't eat anything that tastes bad. I figure, if it tastes bad, it must be toxic.
