Guest guest
Hi Tom, I apologize for the insult; I did get a bit fired up, but I meant what I said and thought about it overnight before posting my personal opinion (getting all the facts straight does not matter to me, as I personally disagree with what the Ann Wigmore Institute is actually doing about this issue). Like mentioned earlier, if the Institute goes through with this lawsuit, many more are likely to follow, as the term is almost as common as the term " raw foods lifestlye " . Many books have been published using the term " living foods " and " living foods lifestyle " , and I bet a good portion of them give credit to founders and pioneers like Ann Wigmore throughout. I just can't pesonally see others using the term commercially in order to bank off of Ann Wigmore's hard work. Even if someone were to have that intention, like scientists continuing and expanding off of their mentors' ideas and work, I would rationalize that the Ann Wigmore Institute should be the kind of people whom are proud and SUPPORTIVE of this happening, that their knowledge is spreading (as Tom stated, " Those who work at managing the Institutes and Foundation that Dr. Ann left behind, have dedicated their lives to spreading her work throughout the world in the most open and positive way. " ). How would other raw foodists like it if 20 years ago I had trademarked and copywrighted the term " raw foods " or " raw foods lifestyle " ? And if anyone wanted to publish a raw foods book or open a store or put out some products or recipes, they would have go through me and all kinds of trouble to do so. That wouldn't be fair and I wouldn't be respected nor have many friends! I was taught by my parents and grandparents early in life that " you just don't sue. Avoid it as much as possible. " . They are all very well off, having been owners of several businesses and non-profit organizations for over 50 years. I don't know of any enemy they would have nor anyone with even a bad taste in their mouth over them, and I believe that their legal morals and principals are among the top reasons why they have been so successful. When people asked me what I wanted to do with my life, I described to them a very affordable holistic medical spa resort that use every modality old and newly invented to help cure the elderly and diseased, and grow all of the organic food eaten by its clients inside and outdoors of it. They asked me about competition. I said there would be no such thing - I would want for anyone to take any of my ideas and do anything that I was doing freely. I don't know everything about Ann Wigmore. But the question I have is, would Ann Wigmore herself had sued? Thanks for hearing me out, Tiffany Tom Spontelli <outreach wrote: I do not and can not speak for the Institutes or the Foundation and I know nothing nor have any ability to speak about the lawsuit. I just teach classes. I do know that those involved with managing these NON-PROFIT INSTITUTIONS and FOUNDATION founded by Dr. Ann Wigmore take very seriously their responsibility of protecting the integrity of the life work of Dr. Ann. Those who work at managing the Institutes and Foundation, that Dr. Ann left behind, have dedicated their lives to spreading her work throughout the world in the most open and positive way. Though I do not know any specifics of the suit, I do know the loving nature of the hearts and minds of those who work at these struggling non-profits and I can only imagine the difficulties that have led them to this unfortunate action of having to file suit to protect the work of Dr. Ann Wigmore. I do not know anything about this person who is reportedly profiting from her work. I do believe that is probably the sad end of what was probably long and difficult road of resolving a difficult situation. I can only say, be sure YOU get all the facts before start making harsh condemnations. All the best, Tom Spontelli
