Guest guest
Bill, Last night I spent alot of time reading the links from your website.... (Its awesome by the way.) Some one else might have already asked these questions... Have you spent time at either of the two centers? (Hippocrates or the other one?) From the reading, I see the health benefits of wheat grass. I asked around here at the health food store if they had any clue where I could buy some locally just to taste it before I invest weeks in growing some thing..... Neither of the two stores knew of a local grower. Do you have any idea where I could buy a small amount? And the lady at the health food store told me it is very sweet tasting. She said like sugar. What should I REALLY be expecting? I have a few more questions, I will get back to after I revise this tax return.... Guest guest
Leah, It is sweeter than sugar and for some people it has a bitter aftertaste. I have a friend that says it reminds her of how Tab tasted in the 70's. I have problems with the after taste but I keep growing it and trying again. Growing it really isn't a problem. I just soak the wheat overnight, rinse it, then put it over about an inch of vermiculite which is very wet. Then you cover it and wait for it to put the cover off. I spray mine every day to keep it moist. Once it pushes the cover off you just let it grow and get green. I have been told that the taller it gets the more you notice the bitter aftertaste. Was recommended that I let it grow no higher than six inches. I have found that lemon juice and a dash of cayenne help with the aftertaste.
