Guest guest
Tommie, After your experience with the rude chef today, I had to wonder if he might be related to the event planner at my office! On a slightly more serious, reading your list of the special diets they are set up to accomodate got me thinking. Now that I am eating only raw, does that make me a vegetarian or vegan? I hadn't given it any thought, but some how in the process of becoming focused on over all health and eating raw I became vegetarian without thinking about it. I appreciate your posts, I know that when I open one I am to learn some thing and that it comes from experience. Thanks! I just got off the phone with the chef at a conference center where I'll be this weekend. They are set up to accommodate vegans, vegetarians, any special diet (i.e. diabetic), or meateaters. When I asked about raw vegan, he shouted, " WHAT??? " Blab-away for as little as 1¢/min. Make PC-to-Phone Calls using Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
Leah, more's the pity that there are lots out there! There are lots of " divisions " of raw food. Some people prefer " living cuisine " . Then there's 811rv (80-10-10 raw vegan) which I am still working toward. There are those who don't like the term " raw " but say " uncooked " . I avoid grains, except for fresh sweet corn. Other people sprout grains or eat them soaked. There are those who drink wheatgrass juice. I figure if something tastes that bad, it has to be toxic. Some raw vegans make lots of recipes. I've gotten past that, for the most part. I do like my green smoothies. There are several kinds of vegetarians. There are " strict " vegetarians who can be referred to as vegan. Ovo-vegetarians eat eggs. Lacto- vegetarians use dairy. Lacto-ovo (or ovo-lacto) use both. Then there are vegetarians who eat poultry and/or fish. To me, personally, they aren't vegetarian but I'm not going to fight with them if they want to call themselves that. Thanks for the compliment about my posts. I've done quite a bit of research where raw food is concerned and I've learned from my mistakes.
