Here's a review I found after my last post:

After reading about this blender on Men's Health I decided to give it

a try. I paid about $130 in Georgia and I'm very pleased with its nice

set of features.

The motor is very powerful from 500 to 20000 revolutions per minute

and it will cut trough just about anything. The jar is made of very

strong polycarbonate and it will hold 7 cups of liquid (more than most

blenders). The lid is placed very tight to prevent spilling. I have

blended powder shakes and frozen smoothies and it works great. You can

also make hot soups (have not done it yet)and grind beans/nuts. For

more info go to http://www.lequip.com/blender/features.asp.

It is a rather fun/beautiful piece of kitchen equipment. It is very

simple to use. There is an on/off switch (not button). There is knob

that you turn to speed it up or slow it down. The tachometer that

indicates how fast the machine is operating is a very nice touch and

it moves from left to right. The lid has a small opening to drop other

liquids such as oil or vinegar w/ out having to remove the lid (very

clever!!). It also comes with a tamper stick to dislodge foods that

may get stuck. The only negative I have is the the size of the base.

It is a bit bulky but most powerful blenders are anyway.

In my opinion is a much better deal than say a Vita-Mix. While the VM

has a more powerful motor the truth is that you will paying two thirds

more for extra power that isn't really needed to mix liquids and to

blend fruits and vegetables. I believe the VM is more suited for

commercial use.

Finally a word of caution: If you use very large frozen fruits like

oversized strawberries you may want to cut them in smaller pieces

since the power of the machine could shoot the fruit straight up while

blending and it could knock off the lid and spill.

Note from Tommie: I've never had that problem. The lid fits very

tightly. As a matter of fact, I " greased " it after the first use.
