Guest guest
My husband usually does our shopping and since we have been (almost) totally raw vegan, he marvels EVERY time at how much LESS expensive it is to eat this way! We do not do organic totally, just the things that are the most contaminated, and wash everything well. As for blenders, I have the K-Tec and it is really marvellous. I make warm soups with it and the smoothies are ever-so-smooth. I have noticed that it doesn't do so well with tiny amounts. It kind of sprays them onto the sides and they are not adequately pulverized. I wish that these companies would put out an extra mini jar like the Osterizer I used to have. I think they called it a baby food jar. It also had a separate screw-on lid for storage in the fridge. That little jar reminds me of those little interchangeable rounded-top (no lid)jars on the Tribest personal blenders, you know, like the ones you see on the late night informercials. I actually got one of those from ebay called Mrs. Kitchen and it is really quite handy for small amounts of things, but it is not powerful enough to do a green smoothie and I am concerned about its longevity. It says not to let it run longer than 60 seconds, so that makes me nervous. It does well for what it does, it will grind up flax seeds and things like that, as well as garlic, etc. Does anyone know if the actual brand Tribest is any more powerful and durable than this one? Now that I am used to a super blender like my K-Tec I want everything to be in that class. That is why I would like to see them and Vitamix come out with that mini jar option.
