Shari--- tell me, please!

Are you saying that the new container makes the Vitamix run more quietly?

I think my Vitamix is noisy, and had just accepted that as a way of

life. Fortunately it doesn't bother my room-mate when I am making my

morning drink.

Still, I think I would like a more quiet operation.

How old is your Vitamix? Mine is about 6 years old.

base of the machine. Between that and the new container my machine is

probably more than twice as quiet as it used to be. I can actually

run it at 6 a.m. and not have everyone growling at me!

My VitaMix is about 10+ years old. It was one of the first blender type VMs to

come out. After the metal canister type. It has four little " feet " for the

container to center on. They were covered in rubber, but the new smaller

canister would not fit properly. I called VM and they said I needed the full

rubber cover. I had to take off the rubber coverings on the original feet and

place a new rubber thingy on. It's hard to describe, but it is square with a

hole in the middle for the gear to fit on the turning mechanism and the rubber

also covers the four feet.

I'm sure it's a combination of the new canister and the rubber that makes it

much more quiet. I also got a new large container and it is quieter as well.

They were both on sale in December. I am on VM newsletter list and they let me

know when there are specials.
