Guest guest
I have a physically demanding 'job' as a Natural Hoofcare Provider ( horses) and usually after a big day of trimming hooves I am pretty muscle sore for days.... Especially if I'm out of shape ( like now since fasting for 3 weeks earlier this month). Well I keep surprising myself with what I don't feel anymore since fasting and eating raw or mostly raw ( I have had a few fries when out to eat with my family-Thank goodness for salad bars!) This weekend was a busy one (working/trimming Sat. and riding horses all day Sunday) and I should be stoved up and feeling every bit of it and I'm not! Wohoo! I didn't realize so much of muscle pain ( lactic acid) comes from how you're eating. I am plenty tired at night. You know the 'good' tired like you did something and I fall right asleep and stay asleep- which is another new thing! My eyes pop open by 6 and I'm ready to get up. No more rolling over and trying to find a comfy spot... Sorry so long! Keep trying newbies! Pam - elizabeth roberts rawfood Monday, March 20, 2006 6:52 AM Re: [Raw Food] newbie help Heather, It sounds like you struggle with it about like I do. I have four children and a husband, and none of them are remotely interested in going completely raw. My husband is in the military, so he's not home all of the time. When it's just me and the kids, I can often convince them to have fruit-days; but here lately the fruits we can find aren't that great. But I don't like everything they like to eat, so I'm trying to make those things more often rather than things I know I like to eat. For example, I don't like to eat PBJ sandwiches or grilled cheese sandwiches, so I'll make those for them for lunch. I can't eat pancakes or waffles so I'll make them pancakes for breakfast. That helps. One of the hardest things is that my husband and I have had a rough relationship. We're hanging in there, and trying to do some of our old favorite things again...but one of those things was cooking together. Spaghetti with home-made sauce. Going out to eat at one particular pizza place...things like that. Interestingly...when I started bringing home mushrooms and sprouts and things for my salads I found out that Paul loves sprouts and mushrooms! Anyways...(HUGS) I don't really have any advice for you, but just keep trying. I think part of my problem is that I have planned out the kids' meals and what to make when DH is home, but I haven't been planning out what to make for myself. I haven't really tried any recipes either. So I need to get my rear in gear, make out a list and get up to Whole Foods. Guest guest
Isn't it the most amazing thing you've ever experienced? I used to drag out in the morning and hate to face the day. No more! On the private forum, one of the members started a thread, " You know you're a raw foodist when... " We've been posting all the things that we don't do any more and the things that are unique to this lifestyle. It's pretty neat.
