Guest guest
Hi Ron, I just started here, but you really have to have your meds checked as you change your diet your meds will need to be adjusted also. So Please keep that in mind...... Caryl Hi everybody, I am a 59 year old male living in Florida. In 1999 bacteria got in my blood at a dentist visit and destroyed the mitral valve in my heart. They had to do emergency open heart surgery and repair the valve with an annuloplasty ring. In 2003 I had a major heart attack in the lower anterior descending artery and have been disabled ever since. I've been trying for the last month to improve my diet and exercise and get back into shape again. Each week I get a little closer to raw and I must say I enjoy the fruit, vegetables and green smoothies. This week I only had cooked food twice. Here is my question. I was expecting a pretty bad de-tox experience after 59 years of eating meat, potatoes, gravy, dairy products, sugar, salt, etc. but it's been a little worse than I thought. The headaches, muscle tiredness and generally feeling blah have been joined by constant sinus infections. Right now I feel like I'm sitting in a barrel when I talk to someone. Has anyone else had this experience? Could it possibly be worse because of all the heart medications I am on? I'm sure that adds a lot to the toxins in my body. I'll keep the group posted as to how I'm doing....Ron Big Hugs, Caryl

Guest guest
Your sinus infection has caused swelling that has closed your eustachian tubes which caused things to sound like this. The eustachian tubes sometimes close when you go up and down on an airplane, same symptoms. This will go away when the sinus infection goes away, the swelling goes down and the tubes will reopen. If you are on lots of medications you might want to find a doctor who understands and supports the changes your body will experience as you go raw to help you manage your medications. If you are able to go to the Tree of Life in AZ, they have physicians there who would know how to support your system while you are going raw. My guess is that you would be able to decrease your heart meds eventually, but ,please don't try this without expert medical advice. Also, what are you doing to help pull the toxins out of your body? There are lots of ways you can do this other than a cleanse which I personally think might be too much for your condition. You can use a sauna, take a bath in a tub with 2 cups of Epsom Salts, do enemas once or twice a day, get a lymphatic massage, use a hot tub, do skin brushing being sure to always brush toward your heart and get hydrocolon therapy, colonics. I am sure there are other ways to help your body dump these toxins that are coming out because of your eating raw but this is what I can think of right now. It is a good thing to be getting rid of them. It would be even better if you didn't have to suffer these consequences. Oh, you could also go to an native american sweat ceremony and use wood vinegar patches from Japan on your feet.
