Guest guest
Well, things didn't go well. I forgot to pack a bowl for my lettuce and I didn't pack a knife for the cantaloupe. So I ended up getting the boxed meals. Pepsi donated some drinks and I let myself have some, so now I've got that taste back again :-( I think I have a bone chip coming out on my left lower jaw where I had the extractions done. They aren't completely healed yet either, which doesn't help with eating. I wasn't careful and I'm out of fresh fruit entirely as of tonight. I've been reading through How To Go Raw.com today, and doing alot of thinking... Short of going off into the woods for the next couple months LOL I'm not sure I can transition easily while still having to cook for the family if I'm allowing myself to still eat some cooked foods. It's too easy to allow myself a bite here or there, justifying it by saying it's part of that " one " meal... Maybe I SHOULD try to just go 100% raw. For the next couple days while my mouth is sore til this bone chip comes out, I'm not going to even be up for eating salads. I had one tonight for dinner, but I almost didn't eat just because it hurt. If I can stay away from the loaf of bread and peanut butter.... So in the morning when Paul comes home, I'll run and stock up on some bottled water and bananas, cantaloupe, berries and see how it goes for the next couple days. I decided I'm going to try to get out of my gym membership. I'm not a gym person, I never have been. I'd much rather be outside. I should invest in a really good double jogging stroller for the two little girls, and let the older two scooter or bike with me. I think wrestling them into helmets would be easier than convincing them to be good to the childcare lady they dislike (and for me to be good too, when she's made awful comments about my special needs child). Guest guest
Beth, I'm sorry things didn't work out for you. It helps to make a list of things you'll absolutely have to have (like a knife, bowl, the food you'll be taking and on and on). Then use it to make sure everything that's left gets home! I know that doesn't help now, but it can next time. I use Notepad a lot for things that I need to remember. You could use it or a sticky note program to make a " master list " and just print it off whenever you're going somewhere for more than a day. Or keep a notepad handy and jot things down as you think of them. Have you tried blended salads? I'm not really big on them but if I had a sore mouth...I think I would prefer to think of them as " soup " rather than " salad " because the word " salad " brings to mind a crunchy fluffy mass of greens. HowToGoRaw has been the program that rescued me from cooked. Roger has made all of the mistakes for the rest of us and he teaches from that viewpoint. You won't be disappointed if you go that route. Transitioning isn't easy, I'm sure, if you are having to fix cooked for your husband and children. One of the HTGR forum members doesn't cook any more. Her husband still eats cooked and he prepares the meals. I know that isn't a viable option for most people but it's a thought to get someone else to do the cooking for you. I'm not a gym person, either. I have my own program that I've worked out (no pun intended) for myself. It includes exercises to tone my shrinking body, keep my back and neck in place (I've been in two accidents where I suffered whiplash), Lightning Speed Exercises (it's included with HTGR), and then I put in some time on a Nordic Track and HealthRider. I don't like sweating with a room full of people. It's my belief that I'll stick with what I can enjoy a lot better than someone else telling me what I should be doing. The Childcare Lady can be a dim memory. Good luck! Tommie http://www.rawburchard.blogspot.com rawfood , elizabeth roberts <mamabethnc wrote: > > > Well, things didn't go well.
