Guest guest
I want to comment on the post regarding not eating fats and sweets at the same meal. I receive these posts in batch format so I apologize for not replying directly to the person who posted. I just returned from the Tree of Life. They emphasize the need to eat a balance of protein, carbs and fats every time you eat to keep your blood sugar level and not get the peaks and valleys. So, Cousens, would not agree with the idea that eating fats at one time and sweets at another would keep you from getting candida. The point is to keep the blood sugar level, not going up and down which would be the result of eating sweets by themselves. When one is ready to refine it they figure out how they metabolize food and whether they are a slow, fast or mixed oxidizer. From this they can then adjust the percentages of carbs, fats and protein to get the best results from their diet. One of the important things is to learn to listen to what your body tells you after you eat certain ways and then adjust your eating patterns accordingly. Guest guest
Hi Tammy, Thanks for writing! Yes, I see from the Rainbow Green recipe book that they mix fruit and fats A LOT. Gabriel Cousens refers to Robert O. Young's work (including Sick and Tired) several times in Rainbow Green, but apparently, Cousens has his own take on how to stay balanced. As an aside, I've tried eating only green smoothies (greens and fruit) and more fruit for breakfast the last few days, and I've gotten really hungry. I'm a fast oxidizer, so I guess I need to eat heartier at breakfast if I don't want to feel that way! LOL! I like where you said: " The point is to keep the blood sugar level, not going up and down which would be the result of eating sweets by themselves. " So that explains why the diet eliminates high-glycemic fruits. What else did you learn there? Please share what you can! By the way, how was your experience at the Tree of Life? How long were you there? Did you go to study or relax or both?
