Guest guest
I have been trying to make a smoothie that I actually like the taste of, and its not working! Two nights ago I tried putting fresh whole strawberries with some pineapple. YUCK. I thought the problem might have been that I used room temp. foods, so I tried again this morning. This time I added a small amount of crushed ice, cold strawberries and pineapple plus 4 drops of stevia. YUCK! What am I doing wrong? Are these things ever going to taste GOOD? Meaning, are my expectations unrealistic? I am not a yogurt fan normally, so I have avoided putting it in a smoothie, would it make a big difference? Guest guest
It's all a matter of personal taste. My absolute favorite smoothie is 1 pealed orange, wizzed up in the blender, then add 1.5 frozen bananas and a fresh ripe mango. Ymmmm... I think the pineapple and strawberry thing would be way to acidic. Also orange, banana, and strawberry is good, and papaya and mango is good. I will add a handful of greens to these as it doesn't alter the taste, but man does it make it a funky color. Just close your eyes when you drink it *lol* If you want a pretty bright green smoothie do apple, pealed lemon, handful of green stuff then enough sweetener of your choice for you. I like it without the sweetener, but then I like tart stuff.. that one will make you pucker! Guest guest
Ya know, I just don't like smoothies, either. No matter what's in them, it's a texture thing for me, they are just too thick. I've never liked them sine I was a kid. Sometimes, if I water it down enough, I can handle it...Usually I just don't bother... Guest guest
On these rare days, that I feel like " What the heck " I put a mango and a babana in the cuisinart and swirl it around. It's like a great puding. Robert W > > " T. M.
