Guest guest
I'm scanning a book (included when I got my used juicer), Power Juices Super Drinks by Steve Meyerowitz. This is not a raw book but most of the stuff he talks about is raw approved. In the chapter Power Drinks for the Physical Body, he suggests whey protein. But whey is not raw approved because it's a milk product right? Well anyway this would explain why she gave me a giant thing of whey protein with the included books (two juice books and the WHEATGRASS book yeah!). I love my wheatgrass book! Anyway please let me know if I'm right about whey not being raw approved because it's a milk product. :-) Minnie
Guest guest
Whey comes from milk. And milk has been boiled / pasteurized etc. What ever they did it got heated over 115F. Secondly, if you are a vegan then dairy products are off the table so to speak. But I do not know whether you are a Raw Vegan or not. I do know that we get all the protein that we need if we follow a diverse raw diet. As a result we don't need whey (in my opinion). Just be sure to eat sensibly. There are many rawfooders who have horrible diets and are not any healthier then meat eaters. If I have a flaxseed cracker with raw almond butter and raw honey on top with an organic slice of banana on top of that. Well that tastes terrific. Is totally raw and organic and will really mess up my health if I eat like that a lot of the time. Sorry, I better get off my pedestal. Just be careful and read a lot to gain knowledge. With love.
