Guest guest
What is the best way to open a coconut? My mon used to use a nail and hammer to poke holes in it and drain the water out, then bash it open with the hammer. A book I have says to use a cleaver, which I do not have and likely do not have the strength for that method anyway. Any suggestions? Thanks, Diana

I then use the front part of the blade to pry the top off leaving a square hole on top. You can then pour the water out and have a big enough hole to put a big spoon inside to scrape out the meat. -- Bill Schoolcraft | Life's journey is not to arrive at the PO Box 210076 | grave safely in a well preserved body, San Francisco,CA 94121 | but rather to skid in sideways, totally http://wiliweld.com | spent, yelling " holy shit, what a ride!
