Sawatdee ka Zoe:

I am not Asian however I pivot on an Asian Axis when it comes to cooking. If I

should get lucky I may also say that about a partner.

BTW... I am sending a cc of this to you. The reason? This group does not allow

HTML and I thought you might like a tag or two. I used a 'generic' Sawatdee ka

tag for the opening here. You are more than welcome to it should you use clip

art in other groups that do allow attachments, ... HTML.

Your name is familiar. I know there is at least one more Zoe in the world

however. I am in a few Asian cooking groups, primarily Thai. I have not been

active there, or here, however. I co-own a standard cooking group on that

I began a year or so ago. Well standard in the sense of types of recipes

offered. To say that no other part of the group is 'standard' would be an

understatement.

I should have looked up your profile first to see what country you are from, but

I prefer doing that after. I like the feeling of blending this letter into all

the Asian variations on foods and eating styles.

Well. I suppose I have said a lot with out saying anything at all.

As for " the same veggies, herbs, fruits ... " . naah .. Folks here for the most

part I believe have never cooked with long beans (12 " +), yu-choy, durian,

galanga, garlic chives, morning glory, Asian basils, etc. Fresh Durian

sautéed in with sticky rice, fresh coconut and coconut milk makes a great warm

or cool desert. Fresh Mango, Guava etc, makes a nice variation on that.

I'm getting hungry writing this. Have to make some breakfast.

Memo--

Chook dee ka ..... Literally ... Good Luck. Usage ... the best of everything

to you. The ka ending is the fem. was of showing respect to the person you are

speaking to. The Sawatdee ka above ..... hello and / or good bye. Also ...

If someone male uses these.... krop, not ka at the end.

  • 1 year later...

what about germans?

to hear them tell it, it doesn't get any

whiter and cleaner. they made soap world famous.

you'll sleep better if i don't tell you how they

treat imported beef animals in transit.

the point being that every place has some icky.

it's no excuse for snide innuendo implying

superiourity on the part of oneself unless i'm doing it.
