Hi Audie,

Do you find they are loud? I have a friend who I think said it was her

Vitamix she uses ear plugs to protect her ears.

I know they're expensive, but I love my Vitamix. I'm on my second one, and

have been

using them regularly for well over 10 years.

They ARE loud, though the new ones are a bit quieter than the older ones.

Sometimes I actually sit mine on the carpet in my dining area rather than run it

on my

countertop in my tile-heavy (and tiny) kitchen. That cuts down on the noisiness.

For the stuff

I make, I usually only run it for 30 seconds, so it's not a very big deal to me.

My juicer (a Breville Juice Fountain) is also loud, come to think of it. Sounds

not unlike a jet

airplane taking off. But, man, I think it could get juice out of a cinder block.

I guess I was influenced by having a couple of cheap blenders a long time ago,

that hardly

worked worth a darn because their motors were so weak. So, both my machines have

really

heavy duty 600-watt motors. The downside is they're louder, but the upside is

they do

exactly what I want them to do every time, and they're virtually indestructible.
