Guest guest
I had a message back from Laurie who is rather preoccupied with editing Dr.Grahams book at this time, or she would add more to this topic.. Flaxseeds contain " cyanogenic glycocides. " I leave it up to others to research the term, but it's not good news. Second, people get all excited about claims that this or that substance contains " the highest _____ content of any food, " without ever considering that we don't want the HIGHEST amount of any nutrient! We want the amount of the nutrient that we need. And in general we cannot look to western " science " to tell us what we " need " in terms of any nutrient. Scientists study sick populations eating toxic diets. We need to get over our fixation with research and human- derived " requirements " and look to nature. You are right on in pointing out " How did we grind flax seed? How did we harvest enough to eat? How did we extract the oil? How did we obtain soybean oil and so forth? Where did we get our " essential fatty acids " then? " TO ADD; Laurie mentioned that Dr.Vetrano is currently working on a book that will cover this topic. Hope this helps anyone who is interested I'm outta here - Kay. x
Guest guest
Thanks Kay for all the effort in this issue with Flax. Now I know what to tell my family members when they ask why I don't use flax anymore.
