Guest guest
Hi Susan! re: your cravings - they sound *emotional* based to me, and I don't proclaim any special knowledge/expertise there. You might look up any older post for Elchanan, and maybe contact him: I know he's got some experience assisting folks through some of that, using a process called dynamic self-discovery. In the interim, I can offer a couple of things that may assist you: 1. if you're willing to share some basic info about yourself, like height, weight, and general activity level, and then tell me either here or privately what your diet looks like on days/times when you're not " binging " , I'd be happy to do some analysis/recommendations for you; 2. regarding eating out: if you want to stay raw, they're have been a couple of good threads about it earlier on this board - look for social eating, etc. Basically, you can: A. call ahead, and see what they can do for you; B. carry a card that says : " I eat only raw fruits, vegys, nuts and seeds. Anything your chefs can do to accomodate would be most welcome " , and give it to the waiter when they come, or you can C. take some of your own foods with you: like maybe a banana, or a large tomato, or an avocado. I've found that all of these assist me, and I've had good experiences with them all (including a fabulous gourmet, multi-course " raw " meal, in a nice restaurant, since it turned out that their pasrty chef was a vegan; long post earlier here about that...). What I find works even better is to eat my normal meal *beforeI I go out: then I can focus on enjoying the company and the experience vs. attempting to gain any meaningful nutrition from the event. This requires a mind shift, and it's really assisted me! 3. If you're not interested in #1, my best guess, from a nutritional perspective, is that you're short on calories overall, and hence short on nutrients. question: are you using any sweet fruits, like bananas or dates, or others, as a base/staple? hope this provides some " food for thought " . all the best, Bob Personal Health Creation Coach
Guest guest
Hi again.. with a little more searching, I found the correct reference for the eating out card: [Restaurants When I eat out, I take my own salad dressing. Also, it is easier eating at places like Old Country Buffet, and just eating from the salad bar. In the book by Victoria Boutenko, " 12 Steps to Raw Foods " , is printed a restaurant card that says, " I eat only raw, uncooked foods. I would like a salad or vegetable plate with only fresh, uncooked items: " Then it lists a lot of vegetables. When ordering, you just hand the waiter or waitress the card. At one Mexican Restaurant they fix me a nice salad. But, I have to remind them, " no cheese! " . Hope that helps!
