Hello,

My name is Tanya Dormevil and I am 20 years old. I am a vegetarian.

I keep going back and forth to being a vegan and vegetarian., I see

the difference when I am a vegan for like 3 weeks, like I dont get

any pimples and I feel much better, then all of a sudden I eat

something with dairy in it like pizza, or italian food. I dont eat

any seafood or any meat, but I keep going back to eating

cheese/dairy. I dont drink mile, only soy but I keep eating

cheese...I dont have great will power at all. I dont want to

continue to eat this way because I know its not good for me. My

entire family are RawVegans except me. I dont live with them so I

guess thats why I lost my will power. I need some advice. Maybe if

someone tells me how nasty dairy is and how bad it is for you, I

will stop eating it for good because thats how I became a

vegetarian...I do drink wheatgrass and green juice but what

difference will it make if i keep eating dairy..Please help with

some advice!

Thanks....

Hi, Tanya! To me, the worst of all " evils " is the dairy. Even soy

milk--it's touted as being better because it's not from cows, but it's still

mucous-producing and infectious. My two children are now in their 20's, but

when

they were little, every kid I knew was having tubes put in their ears because

they all kept getting ear infections, and the parents got tired of giving them

so many rounds of antibiotics for years and years. Mine would get the same

ear infections, so with my son, I made an appointment to have the tubes put in

(a surgical procedure--they create a drain in the ears). A friend asked me

why would I have tubes put in when all I had to do was take my son off

dairy--I'd never heard this before. I canceled the appointment, took my son

off of

dairy--and he never had another ear infection. I did the same for my

daughter--no more dairy--and she stopped getting ear infections and strep

throat.

Dairy and soy just breed infection, it's as simple as that. Just know that

when you eat or drink it, you are creating a breeding ground for all kinds of

trouble, and it seriously weakens your immune system. I know it's hard to

give it up, but it's so worth it. My sister is 49 and has been plagued with

ovarian cysts all her life, but whenever she stops eating dairy, they go

away. If I even touch the stuff, I can feel my arms get weaker, my throat

immediately gets sore, my body feels tired. It clogs up your system and makes

you

unable to function at any kind of peak level.

At 20 years old, I commend you for exploring becoming vegan!! I wish so

much that my family had been more food-conscious when I was your age. I only

decided to try the vegan lifestyle this past May, and I have had overwhelming,

powerful results, both mentally, physically and spiritually. My husband

fought me on the whole concept, but I asked him to just leave me be, and I

respected his choice to continue to eat whatever he wanted. He saw me starting

to

lose weight and have a lot more energy, so he gave it a try. He's now

stricter than I am, and he thanks me all the time for bringing this into our

lives.

It's an interesting world, this being a vegan. I have my struggles, but

leaving out the dairy is now an easy one for me. It just always makes me

sick...so that tells me something! (Also makes me gain weight!) Have you

tried

making almond milk, by the way? I don't know of any vegan substitutes for

cheese, but the almond milk is better than milk--give it a try!! If you don't

have a recipe, let me know and I'll tell you how to make it.

Best to you,

Susan

Hi Tanya...

welcome to the list..

it doesn't all sound like will power - some suggestions follow:

1. if you want to post more about your current diet, maybe we can

offer more thoughts then;

2. where are you on the " raw " scale - about ___% raw?

3. aim for a diet that is comprised of: " whole, raw, fresh, ripe,

organic or better, fruits, vegys, and a very few nuts and seeds. "

for the fruits - suggest establishing a base of some " sweet "

fruits, like bananas and fresh dates (not dried...) date sources are

listed over in the files section at 's RawSchool group

http://health.Rawschool

you might check that out..

4. Ok - dairy is horrid: it's designed for cows - if you want to look

like, grow like a cow and act like a cow: eat dairy! and since I

looked briefly at your website (the vegan link doesn't work, btw...),

I dont' think that's what you want! lol! It's also pasteurized,

meaning dead, and the proteins and the fats are not assimilable by

humans. Some high percentage of people are " allergic " to milk.

re: the pimples - that's your body telling you that it has too many

" toxins " to eliminate through normal eliminative channels, and it's

going to create one on its own: through some extra openings in your

skin. they, the pimples, are a clear signal from your body that it's

not happy with your food choices. I suggest not fighting the body: it

will win in the long run!

Pizza is better called " poison pie " - it's a terrible combination of

unhealthy foods - in your case, your body it attempting to tell you

that very clearly.

Suggest you look at what you want in your life for Health, see how

that fits into your life values, and then take some purposeful actions

to align your living with what you intend.

def. of value: " consciously-chosen, guiding principle which affects

every area of life... "

You don't need the wheatgrass juice, and depends upon if the green

juice came from " whole, fresh.....etc... " Probably don't need it

either, and it may be much better for you than pizza.

aim for lots of fruits during the day. another suggestion: prepare,

and take your foods with you: have something that is healthy to eat so

that you're not as tempted to eat pizza or Italian (which uses lots of

" excito-toxins " , aka spices, garlic, etc. <== all non-foods.

hope this helps.

good luck with your career, and getting more Health into your life.

all the best,

Bob
