Guest guest
The North Bay Living Foods Community provides a community-based structure for the education and support of a living foods vegetarian diet and lifestyle. We advocate the use of a raw/living food vegetarian (vegan) diet for improved health for a variety of reasons. - Living Foods tend to demand the least amount of energy from our body to use for digestion, thus allowing for the body's self-healing capacity to be most fully expressed. - Living Foods contain an abundance of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, carbohydrates, protein, essential fats, fiber, structured water, antioxidants and phytonutrients, that nature has provided for us in a complete package for all of these elements to work together synergistically. - When incorporating more Living Foods, and less cooked and processed foods, into their diets, most people report increased energy and vitality, and dramatically improved health and well being. - While we advocate that your diet be derived from as much whole, fresh, unprocessed raw/living plant foods, and as little cooked and processed foods as possible; we do realize that diet is but one of many important factors of health, and each person needs to find the dietary balance that suits their individual needs most optimally. - Bring a large enough raw/living foods dish to *serve at least 10 people*, as well as an appropriate serving utensil for your dish. - Suggestions: All types of salads, Click here for some raw recipes.<http://www.living-foods.com/recipes> - We do ask that you bring a dish that is as minimally processed and concentrated as possible, and that the focus be on high water content, preferable organically grown, raw vegetables and sprouts. We do not advocate the abundant use of spices, oil, or salty substances (such as Bragg Liquid Aminos, Nama Shoyu, miso, or sea salt). If you do use any of these in your recipes, please do keep them to a bare minimum. - Couples should bring enough food for 20 servings. - Please fill out a card with the list of ingredients in your dish when you arrive at the potluck. - The potluck fee is $3. See you there!! - *Please bring a Plate and Utensils for yourself. You also might want to bring some water.* *Meeting dates in 2005:* *Aug 10* *Sept 14* *Oct 12* *Nov 9* *Dec 14* Our meetings are currently in a Potluck format, and it is required that you bring a potluck dish to share.
