(wheatgrass) I don't have the references onhand so I won't make any claims but in a few nutrition books I have seen reference made to wheatgrass juice having alot of " greens " worth of value per serving. Meaning, how many heads of lettuce would equal what you get from 2oz of wheatgrass juice. Here is one of many links that discuss the value... ttp://www.hippocratesgreenhouse.com/page6.html The majority of intense study was done in Japan with (A) Barley and (B) Wheatgrass, barley grass seems to be the favorite of the two in Japan. ________ The nutrient mix found in grasses is quite different than that found in tender leafy greens. Yes, it is true that they share many nutrients in common, but this does not make them similar at all. It takes an extraordinary constitution, with multiple stomachs, to properly digest any substantive quantity of grass. The animals so designed are called " ruminants, " such as cows, goats, sheep, and they chew and rechew and so forth. The grasses tend to be VERY acidic and caustic. The juice is often misperceived as " cleansing, " because the body has to work quite hard to cleanse itself of the juice. Please, I encourage everyone not to buy into this particular mythology. There are far healthier, more sustainable ways to get what you need. And the notion that " more is better " is quite self-defeating. We need the right nutrients in the right packaging, not concentrated nutrients stripped of any packaging. Best to all, Elchanan
