I'm trying to do my best to my son. But eventhough I read on the net that vaccines are not good for babies(and even do harm babies), I could not dare to not get them for my baby as I have a cousin who has polio(she got it when she was 2years old). I know how much their family(particularly herself) struggled with her polio, so I did not want to take any chance with that for my son, so I got him vaccinated(I read many terrifying stories of babies who got vaccinated and that they got many problems(some even died) as soon as they were vaccinated, but nobody I know had any problems with vaccines(I know the problems are not seen immediately or even visible or can be related to the vaccines eventhough there were caused by them). The problem with not getting vaccinated weighed more for me as I saw somebody who struggled because of not getting vaccinated. Another reason for that is that I couldn't find any doctor who supports not giving vaccines to babies. I hope I can find someone by the time I have my second son(we think it'l be around 2years from now). Do u know any good doctor in San Francisco bay area that supports these good ideas like " no dairy " (I'm not giving milk despite the fact that my son's ped says he needs it), " no vaccines " , " no cooked food " (I give him 60% raw food), " no soy " (I give no soy foods at all to him), " long time breastfeeding preferebly beyond even 2years " (my baby's ped asked me to stop nursing at his 1yr visit, but I'm still nursing). Pl somebody tell me if I can get such a doctor. I am hoping to find one soon so that my son can benifit(as may be a doctor can convince my husband more than what I can). Lata vemri. _____ Hi all, I read Donna's response about legal matters. What Donna shares understates, if anything, the real situation out there now. The entire population (US) is terrified of its own government at this point, and rightly so. As the last vestiges of the republic are dismantled and replaced with a brazenly socialist State, regard for human dignity and even human life is descending to a very low place indeed. It really IS as bad as Donna suggests, and then some. But my response comes from a different perspective. Why do you feel the need to have a pediatrician in this child's life? What life-affirming or life-supporting function does this ped perform, in what way does his/her presence in your child's life constructively serve your child? I would truly love it if you would share about questions such as these. Would you be willing to do so? If you absolutely must get medical care for your child, there are heaps of other paths. Having wracked the area myself, I can recommend an excellent cranio-sacral practicioner, a fabulous pediatric homeopath, and a totally hands-off, just in case of emergencies kind of guy, who's a naturopath. Otherwise, check out the Berkeley Parents Network for recommendations. ......and then Elchanan asks... > I read Donna's response about legal matters. I'm not the OP, but since I have an answer, I wanted to chime in. As a mother of a three-year-old and a one month old, I can tell you that the best and highest reason to have some sort of medical care history for your child is so that you have references to show CPS. As part of my prep for my homebirth, I ran into several...um...intractable family members, who threatened to report me to CPS if I went through with my " risky " plans. Whatever. So being one to take it to the source, I set up an appointment with my local CPS, and asked them directly about what triggers investigations, and what kinds of things make them back down. Sadly enough, they generally don't go after homeowners, because they have the financial resources to fight back. But the other biggie that makes them back off is having some sort of record of medical care for your child. Of course that begs the question...what if your child is never sick? But in their minds, if you're not afraid to expose your child to other adults who are under compulsion to report suspected abuse, then you must be OK. Depressing, but logical. ~~L!
