The best way for me is in smoothies and blended/processed recipes. I CAN digest them that way. And to soak and take out the tannins is good, too. I adore my nut recipes. All kinds of yummy nuts and seeds, too! > > Diana of Dewberry Hill >----- Hi Diana! I really enjoy nuts also, *AND* I found that only a few, just a few (like 1/4 C.) were/are enough to really swing my calonutrient ratios to too much fat very quickly. One of the things I've noticed is that my portion size, if I don't honestly " measure " it out, tends to get out of control, and before I know it, I've consumed 1/2 C., or even a full cup. When I first went raw again in September 04, (first raw venture was in ~1976-1979) my % of fat ratio was up in the 40% range! and this was without really consuming a " lot " of fat! lol! just a " few " nuts, 1/2 an avocado or so, and then some nice Olive Oil to make the salad dressing with! I think you get the idea... Nutridiary, www.nutridiary.com, has been very helpful to me in better understanding/monitoring my calonutrient ratios, which now stays in the 80/10/10 area - meaning a *MINIMUM* of 80% of calories from carbohydrates, typically mostly fruits, and a maximum of 10% from either fat or protein. Most days these ratios naturally fall in the 90/5/5 range. Eating this way, as well as getting sufficient exercise, fresh air, sunshine, etc..etc..has made dramatic improvements in my health, by almost any measure - some of the objective ones, such as body size, body composition, blood pressure, blood lipip profile, resting heart rate, as well as the subjective ones like how I " look " in the mirror (how much of my naked body in the mirror " jiggles " when I gently bounce up and down), how my clothes fit, my endurance, comments from others on how I look, etc..etc.. Thanks for reading this, and I continue to hope that it's both ok to share personal experiences, and that others continue to do so also, so that we can all continue to learn from each other about both what *is* working and what is not working. all the best, Bob
Guest guest
Thanks for sharing that great info, Bob...it is very helpful. Yes, we can overdo the fats quite easily, especially if we have a few pounds to lose or cholesterol to lower. The websie is great, I'll share that with my mother who has already lost 40 pounds on the raw. Diana of Dewberry Hill Bob Farrell <rjf2 wrote: Hi Diana!
