, (also my dw's name!)

yes, Elchanan, Nora, Laurie Masters, Doug Graham, and others have

talked about this. Even T. Colin Campbell, in the China Study makes

references to both fat, and especially animal protein.

That said, here's my suggestion - try a one week experiment,

following Elchanan's suggestions, and then try whatever you've been

doing for the next week, and note any differences.

_____

Actually, may I suggest that this approach is one that often leaves many

people bewildered and confused.

If you truly wish to observe and comprehend how a completely new (for you)

way of eating affects you, you must do so over an extended period of time.

So to experiment on yourself with a way of eating in a manner that is both

meaningful and interpretable, you really need to eat that way for a minimum

of three months, preferably six months, and have the support of a live

resource or two with whom you can talk periodically throughout that

timeframe.

Most people simply cannot gain the perspective nor the awareness required to

" grok " the effects in a shorter timeframe. And this is the only way I know

wherein most people can gain the experience needed to continue indefinitely

on their own. You can only get so much from books, emails, and such. And

this is also the only way to implement and observe the effects of a

combination of healthful eating AND physical activity, emotional work,

adequate rest, sunshine, etc. all done concurrently.

People who make this level of commitment to themselves and their health tend

(are most likely) to be successful with RF. The trial-and-error-on-your-own

approach and the quick-little-experiment approach both tend to lead most

people into frustration and beyond, and this is a primary reason why the

vast majority of those who try RF (or any eating program) eventually give up

on it.

Best to all,

Elchanan
