Hi Judy,

Thanks for your message. I'm glad you enjoyed reading about our holiday -

it was certainly a wonderfully relaxing time and I always feel so at home in

UK. Hans and I are both Anglophiles and it is fortunate that it is

relatively easy for us to get to England from Holland.

The job search goes on but, unfortunately, nothing much has happened this

week. We have had three days of more or less non-stop and very heavy rain.

It takes me about 15 minutes to cycle to central Haarlem from home and there

isn't much point arriving on the doorstep of employment agencies looking

like the first cousin of a drowned rat (LOL). Thanks for your best wishes

and I am confident that everything will turn out for the best.

I'm glad to have found a fellow community cookbook lover. These books tend

to have some really great recipes don't they? I have a few SDA books but I

have discovered that they are not always vegetarian. They often contain

fish recipes as well as vegetarian ones. I was a bit disappointed with a

couple of SDA books I ordered from USA. The books are great and the recipes

sound delicious but they do use a lot of brand name vegetarian products.

Most of these products (or equivalents) are not available in Holland so it

means that I can not use many of the recipes. Mind you, I shouldn't

complain as I willingly buy community fundraising cookbooks just for what

they are and almost regardless of the number of vegetarian recipes they

contain.

Cheers for now from Marie

Hi Marie,

I have tons of them and they are always vegetarian. I have never come across a

fish dish or other meat dishes, as our churches always encourage a vegetarian

diet. Those name brands are put in there because they are wonderful products

that many folks love. Lots of us have been using them for years. John Harvey

Kellog first came up with these and is a pioneer with these products. .

http://www.kelloggs.com/brand/worthington/ They are very healthy and

delicious, unlike many of the counter parts that are out there. I have tried

other off brands in other places and they are no where near as good, IMHO.

Try going to www.adventistbookcenter.com and click on store locations on the

side bar. While these products are not on their website, they are carried in

their stores. They have locations all over the world. You could call your

local SDA church and ask for locations that they have found that can buy them

at. If they have a church school, they will often have a store on the grounds

that carry these products as a fund raiser.

Yes I have plenty of cookbooks too that aren't all vegetarian, and I either

adapt as I can with the meat substitute products or find other recipes that have

no meat in them and use those.

Enjoy your cookbooks,

Judy
