Guest guest
I am always working on vegetable broth. When I trim any veggies, steam veggies, etc., I am creating vegetable broth. My vegetable trimmings go into the freezer. I just cooked corn so I have corn water in the refrigerator. The next time I need broth, I will empty the frozen trimmings and simmer them in the corn water. Depending on the flavor I want I may also actually add bay leaves, onions, dried mushrooms, garlic, etc. I always add a piece of whole fresh turmeric to my broth for its anti inflammatory properties--remember in India alzheimers is virtually unknown and turmeric is a major component in curry :-)._,___ Kathleen M. Guest guest
Hi Kathleen, Interesting. After reading your post I googled turmeric images. I've never seen whole turmeric, but it looks a lot like colorful ginger. Your broth sounds great and very economical. I have limited freezer/fridge space, so I buy broth. I think I need to start adding turmeric to more foods. :-) Sharon Kathleen Pelley wrote: > I am always working on vegetable broth. >
