Guest guest
Hi, I had a very small shrub of gooseberries...a few were ripe each day and as I walked my dogs to the area, I would pluck off two or three berries and eat them. They were a little tart, but at the same time, mild, sort of a apple/pear flavor, with some tiny seeds inside similar to a blueberry (the ripe coloring was a medium dark mauve). For me this was a nice little treat on my dog walk. This variety ripened over a two week period in late June, at that time a rainy/mixed sunny West Virginia. Grandmother made gooseberry jam and I can still remember it's distinct flavor. Come to think of it I haven't seen them in the market for ages. Now I am curious..Anyone have a gooseberry bush. I have seen them for sale in seed catalogs. Deanna Messenger with Voice. Make PC-to-Phone Calls to the US (and 30+ countries) for 2¢/min or less.
