Guest guest Posted July 23, 2006 Report Share Posted July 23, 2006 Date Snowballs 1/2 cup butter or margarine, soften 1/3 cup powdered sugar, sifted 1 tbsp water 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour, sifted 1 pinch of salt 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts 1 cup of dates, pitted and chopped Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cream butter and sugar together using a wooden spoon or mixer on medium. Stir in the water and the vanilla. Add the sifted flour and the salt. Mix well. Stir in the dates and the nuts. Roll into 1-inch balls. Place 2 1/2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 18- 20 minutes or until the cookies are set but not brown.
