Guest guest
Both produce stands in our town have their own bean/pea shellers, so when local farmers bring in bussels of beans and peas and other fresh produce from their fields, the owners of the produce stands buy it and shell the beans. It is nice that so much of it is grown locally. I should of said purple hull peas instead of purple eyed peas. They are really good and so are field peas with snaps. I hope you enjoy the pole beans, with potatoes and shredded carrots. Don't forget to add some salt and Ms. Dash. It is really good in it. Sometimes I even add coarsley cut fresh cabbage and add more water. It is then more like a soup. Of course, my mother cooked hers MUCH longer than I do and hers were closer to canned. Going to try adding potatoes and shredded carrots next time I make them - thanks. You must have much better produce stands than I do. I've never seen purple eye peas and field peas with snaps, and only fresh lima beans rarely.
