Guest guest
And I thought people in Colorado were polite. Lordy, the folks in Jawja are just the sweetest. Funny restaurant true story..I ordered a Pita (that's what it said on the menu) and when the waitress placed it in front of me it was a lot of raw veggies sitting on top of a flour tortilla. I said " excuse me but did you run out of Pita's? " She replied " Honey that is a red neck Pita " . With the cutest southern drawl she said " 'njoy " . I rolled up that tortilla like the true west person that I am and the other patrons looked on with admiration. Tee hee. Guest guest
Be glad you got the tortilla rather than pita. The pita bread you get down here (heaaaah) are ancient and stale. This doesn't generally apply to Hotlanta area, which my husband's relatives call " Up Nawth. " They even have vegetarian restaurants Up Nawth, go figure. Down here if you want a veggie plate you'll get collards with pork, white rice, sliced tomato on lettuce and corn. Of course that's before they call the sherrif because some pinko commie type is at the Dinner Belle and he'd better come quick and should they call Homeland Security. Or if they are nicer, and you say you are vegetarian, it will be " Well bless your heart. " (Remember students, in the north one woman will say of a third, to another, " Susan looked like a tramp in that outfit. " Down in the deep south we will say, " Didn't Susan look nice today, bless her heart, I'm right glad Brother Bob didn't see her. " ) Jeanne giggling in Georgia because some of you think I am joking. " way down souuuuuuuuuuuuuuuth in Dixie. " genny_y2k <genny_y2k wrote: And I thought people in Colorado were polite. Lordy, the folks in Jawja are just the sweetest.
