Guest guest Posted July 13, 2006 Report Share Posted July 13, 2006 Deviled Tomatoes Sauce 2 T. butter 1 tsp. confectioners' sugar 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 yolk, hard-cooked egg, mashed 1 raw egg, beaten 1 1/2 T. hot vinegar Coating 1/4 c. flour 1/8 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 3 tomatoes, cut in thick slices 4 T. butter Over low heat in a sauce pan, melt butter. To melted butter, add sugar, mustard, salt, pepper, egg yolk, raw egg, and vinegar. Stir mixture until thick and set aside. In a small dish, mix flour, salt and pepper. Coat each tomato slice in the mixture. In a frying pan, melt butter. Brown both tomatoes slice sides until golden brown.
