Guest guest
We will help you. Here's the link to the recipe files for easy access. %2ARecipes/ Look in the sauce folder. Now if you look in the substitute folder you will see a TVP folder set up. When I reconstitute TVP I use a full cup of TVP and place in a bowl with seasonings, and I add one scant cup of boiling water, cover bowl with a plate for about 10 minutes. You can also toss it into your sauces dry just add a little extra water as it cooks. Hope this is of some help to you, nice to meet you! I used to have a great receipe which could use up all the summer tomatoes and would freeze well, but I haven't seen it in years. I'm not talking about Ketchup type tomato sauce, but the kind you can cook with or spread on pizza bases. Many thanks. Guest guest
Hi Donna, thanks for your reply. Maybe I'm going nuts, but the only Sauce folder I can see is Sauces, Marinades and Condiments and there is no TVP sub folder. Am I looking in the wrong place? TVP is a ground meat substitute right? Does that mean you can use it in any dishes which originally contained ground meat or is it only for certain recipes? Also, what's the weight ratio for the substitution? As you can tell, I'm a complete novice and don't have a clue what I'm doing (yet).
