Guest guest
One of my Godsons is becoming a very accomplished cook and since he is so close heart wise to his Nana (me) and Grumpa (my husband), he has been moving to a total vegetarian lifestyle for some time. Since both his adopted parents work (busy doctors) and he loves the kitchen, he has taken over most of the meals. His dad mentioned how much he missed his mother's pot roast dinner with lots of roasted veggies. So Sean made a beautiful totally vegan dinner with lots of different veggies and a beautiful brown gravy (made with his own veg broth and darkened by roasting veggies before simmering for broth). His dad devoured dinner and only later realized that Sean had " forgotten " the pot roast. The other kids, all totally behind their big brother, were giggling and laughing because for the past month, there has not been the first bit of meat served in the house. Our God children are all healthy, smart and loving and going meat free. Every week the kids work together in the kitchen cutting up raw fruit and veggies and making hummus and dukkah for snacks. Last week Sean used one of my whole grain pita recipes and now has a supply of those in the freezer. I've been sending him recipes from the group because the family policy is very strict on Internet usage with the kids but eventually he will join the group. Please keep posting recipes! There are four young Godkids in California who have been eating them up. Thanks! Jeanne in Georgia Paws To Love NO Kill Cat Shelter Talk is cheap. Use Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Guest guest
Jeanne that is such a great story! It is so wonderful when carnivores don't realize that they are eating vegan! Ha ha... I was down your way this weekend on the way to Savannah... we couldn't find a hotel within 40 miles of Savannah... we ended up at St. Simon's Island. What a weekend...it rained the whole way home yesterday and we got a flat tire! Try to stay dry this week.
