Guest guest
I use Nori to eat my rice with... comes in sheets and I like the Korean style. Also, Furikake is good on rice or vegetables. xoxoRobyn I use all of them. Nori, kelp powder, kombu, agar agar, dulse, hijiki, wakame. Now if you don't like the sea flavor then you might not like them. I use them for various dishes. Agar agar as a gel, kombu I toss in soups and beans it adds the salty flavor and enhances the taste and it cuts down the gas in beans, I like the kelp powder added to tofu in my mock tofuna sandwiches, hijiki I like over steamed rice with toasted black sesame seeds, I make a seafood style broth with them also. I have a sea veg. cookbook if you would like a few recipes, I think I have a few in the file too. Hey, come and visit me, after we eat our flowers we can go to the beach and start on the seaweed.....Now if you do Donna Why is there always money for war, but none for education? 01.20.

( none grow wild here and am not sure of the ones we can grow and their edibility). I have wanted to do the sugar coated ones- they are SO SO BEAUTIFUL. But of course- not enough patience so I have not ever done them. Come to think of it- I think I did try it about 25 years ago- but didnt' have much success.....gosh I forgot all about that! lol Now-what sea veggies?? I have some little nori sheets.. i've used them to make mock tuna and noodles with moderate success and made the chickpea 'toona' the other day and think the nori pieces tasted too 'fishy'! lol What have you tried- or want to try?? Living in CA- you have lots available I bet.
