Guest guest
Hi, my ex is Lebanese as well, and I have made kibbee out of potato. It was delicious and lenten as well. I'll see if I can dig up the recipe - its been a long time. My former father-in-law and his brother were born and raised in Syria/Lebanon, so Arabic food plays a huge role in my own children's lives. In fact, one of my kid's favorite foods is what they call " Arabic Porridge " which is basically cream of wheat with teleme cheese and rose water. I can't stand the stuff, but they think it's heavenly (as does their father, my ex). They also love Kibbe, which I think would be hard to make vegetarian, unless you used a soy replacement. I'd definitely love to see what vegetarian Arabic foods you would prepare.
