Guest guest
http://japanesefood.about.com/library/pictures/blnira.htm I use these, they are like a flat chive and very intense in flavor, between onion and garlic. Do the scapes look something like these? I find these for 50 cents a bunch at the Asian market, they are good in potato salad, sauteed, etc. Donna Rachael Whitney <rw1647 wrote: The scapes that I got, and that I've seen before, are long, sort of curly, bright green stems. they are soft and edible raw. I'm assuming that they are basically garlic sprouts, though I've also seen " baby " garlics that have long flat leaves, shaped sort of like big grass stems, so I'm not sure exactly what part of the plant the scapes are. I've never grown garlic, just spend a lot of time eating it.... ~Rachael Ring'em or ping'em. Make PC-to-phone calls as low as 1¢/min with Messenger with Voice.
