Guest guest
Ok, I followed the directions, and after 4 days the big ones sprouted, but not the little bitty ones (I think alfalfa?). They tasted good though. Anyone know if smaller seeds take longer? I would have thought they'd be faster. They were messy on my bagel too, I had to practically use a fork because they kept falling off. Tomorrow I'll try and keep them more on the cream cheese part so they'll stick better. Any additional info most welcome. Thanks! AmyF
Guest guest
This is very strange. I started off a batch of alfalfa and quinoa at the same time as you and my alfalfa are now 2 inches long. The quinoa are a noxious mess and perhaps I should have soaked them first. I've never had any problems with alfalfa or any of the seeds that you named as being in your mix. Did you soak them? I have to admit that I've never soaked mine although my Sprouters Handbook recommends soaking for 8 hours. Where are you sprouting them? They should be out of direct sunlight. I grow mine in the kitchen which is an internal room with no natural light and they survive that well enough. In the troubleshooting guide for seeds not sprouting it says the possible causes are: " old seed, insect damage, irradiated seed. Situation too cold. Soak water too cold. " It suggests soaking in luke warm water. Sorry not to have been of more help.
