Guest guest Posted June 13, 2006 Report Share Posted June 13, 2006 Cheese Bread Twists 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1/2 teaspoon paprika 2 cups all purpose flour 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated 3/4 cup soy milk 2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoons sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1 egg beaten Mix Parmesan cheese and paprika and set aside. Mix remaining ingredients except egg until dough leaves side of bowl. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and gently roll in flour to coat. Knead lightly 20 to 25 times. Cover and let stand for 15 minutes. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Spray two baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray. Divide dough in half and cover one and set aside. Roll other half of dough into a 10x8 inch rectangle. Brush with half of the egg and sprinkle with half of the cheese mixture. Lightly press cheese mixture into dough. Cut dough into 12 strips. Gently twist each strip and place on baking sheets. Repeat with remaining dough. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from baking sheet and cool on a wire rack. You can also make cheese pretzels by cutting dough into 8 longer strips, twisting dough into pretzel shape and placing seam side down on a sprayed baking sheet.
