Hi,

My name is Candice. I'm new here. I'm not the world's best

vegetarian. I was a vegetarian from age 8 to age 14, until I was sent

to a religious school that believed vegetarianism was a sin (I know it

sounds weird but it's true), and I was forced to eat meat for three

years. I've been off and on since graduating 11 years ago. I have

fallen off the wagon a lot, but I'm looking to take the final jump and

reclaim my beliefs, so this group is a good thing for me. I mostly do

this because I love animals, but you can't deny the health benefits.

Feeding a husband and children, you have to care about the helath

benefits too.

Well, I hope you all have a good day!

Welcome Candice,

No such thing as the " World's 'best' Vegetarian " . I don't think

anyway. I am sure there are many who are great but 'best' well that

is questionable. So you are among the " great " LOL

Sorry about your experience at school but chalk it up as a lesson

well learned and forgive. People do the best they can with the

information they have at the time.

In cooking class when I was 13 the class project for the day was

broiled steak cooked rare. When I saw the blood I refused to eat it

and was given an F for that grade period.

So I believe your story .

Anyway you will love this group. No one will try to force to to eat

anything..LOL

Smiles and hugs

Candice,

That does seem weird. Some religions even state that you are supposed

to be vegetarian. A lot of Hindus and all Jains are vegetarian.

Sikhs are supposed to be vegetarian. Jesus and A lot of Christian

saints fasted and were thus vegetarian temporarily. I am wondering if

St. Francis of Assisi was vegetarian because he loved animals so much.

I am sure there are quite a few others.
