Guest guest
Where were you in mexico? That sounds like the heat of the southern area. Cancun or Yucatan? Did you find a good vegetarian Mexican dish to share with us? You will catch up, first yake a look in the recipe files, we must add 30 or more a day in there. Nice to see you back with us, Donna --- whitney <starrypryncess wrote: > Hi all- > > I just got back from a week in Mexico to 815 > messages! I've got one more silver dollar, but I'm not gonna let them catch me, no, not gonna let them catch the MIDNIGHT rider. - Allman Brothers Band, Midnight Rider
Guest guest
Donna, I was in Merida, Campeche, and Celestun, with a day trip along the Puuc Route to several Maya sites. Besides all of the tropical fruits that we tried (huaya, guanabana, mamey, etc.) I had two stand-out traditional Yucatecan dishes; papadzules (hard-boiled egg stuffed tortillas with tomato sauce and pumpkin seed sauce) and panuchos sin pollo (two deep fried tortillas stuff with beans and topped with avocado, lettuce, tomatoe, and pickeled onions). I also had a dish of ground pumpkin seeds cooked in a traditional method that I can't remember but it looked like cat food and was not a favorite of mine, as well as, cuitlacoche stuffed crepes (cuitlacoche is corn fungus) which was- surprisingly to me- delicious.
