Guest guest
HI! I have made your veg meatball stew for tea tonight- am hoping it turns out... as I have a few questions/comments about it for future reference or for others that might want to make it...... *First- I think this is for a much larger crockpot than I have! lol It is for about a 5qt wouldn't you say? (I had to remove about half the veggies once I got them all chopped and mixed and plopped into my crock- it was full - I couldn't put in any meatballs!lol) *Next- I put in about 18 smallish meatballs as per the suggestions I got when I asked before about the package of MSF meatballs- didn't weigh them- but it was just enough to cover all the veggies. *For the liquids- can you please tell us what size can the tomato puree is meant to be? I had some passata sauce left over from another dinner so dumped that in and rinsed the jar out- so I think that made enough liquid for my size crock- but just thought it would be good to know the right amount. I would guess about a14.5-20 oz size can?? Not sure what size they come in anymore in the USA. *For the slices of celery- should they have been about the size of the carrot pieces? I did small pieces like I would for soup- but afterwards wondered if it should have been bigger. Will write again soon with our review of the stew- smells great as it is cooking now!
