Guest guest Posted November 1, 2005 Report Share Posted November 1, 2005 i am going to make: Cauliflower Paprikash Peas with Onion Green salad Fresh bread Tropical Mystery for dessert Cauliflower Paprikash [recipe in files] 2 Tbs. butter 1 cup chopped onion 2 Tbs flour 1 tsp. prepared horseradish 1 cup sour cream (can use low-fat) 1 cup yogurt (plain non-fat works fine) 2 tsp. mild paprika 1/2 tsp salt black pepper 1 (12 oz) pkg egg noodles 2 Tbs. poppyseeds 2 tsp dried dill 2 tsp dried chives 1 medium-sized cauliflower *In a medium sized sauce pan, cook onions in 1 Tbs butter for about 8 minutes, or until soft. Toss in the flour and cook a few more minutes stirring on low. *With a wire whisk, stir in the horseradish, sour cream, and yogurt. Cook over low heat for 5 mintues. Add paprika, salt, and pepper to taste. *Break cauliflower up and steam until tender. Add them to the sauce while they are hot and stir. *Cook noodles until al dente. Drain and toss with 1 Tbs of butter and poppyseeds. *Pour sauce over noodles and sprinkle with dill, chives and a bit of paprika. 4 servings. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peas and Onions 2 cups frozen peas, thawed 1/4 cup chopped onion 1 Tbs. garlic flavored oil 1 Tbs. margarine 1/4 cup vegetable broth Saute the onion in the oil and margarine until onions are soft. Add the peas and broth. Simmer until warmed through. 4 servings ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Green Salad Just any mixture of fresh vegetables: carrots, broccoli, lettuce, green peppers, cucumbers etc. Tossed in a mild Italian dressing ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tropical Mystery [recipe in files] Sift all of these dry ingredients together in one bowl: 3/4 cup sugar 1 cup all-purpose flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/8 tsp salt 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp ground allspice 1/8 tsp ground cloves 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg In a small bowl, combine these next three ingredients: 3 Tbs vegetable oil 1/2 cup soy milk 1 tsp vanilla extract *Make a well in the dry ingredients and then pour the soy milk mixture into it; blend with a fork until smooth.
