Guest guest
Hi all, I just wanted to say what a kick I had seeing David Whyte's poem posted here. His office is right next door to mine here in Langley Village. He is a great neighbor. Langley is a small village on the south end of Whidbey Island, which is in the Puget Sound. I take a big ferry boat to the main land and then it's about an hour south to Seattle. Whidbey isn't realy veggie friendly in regards to resturants, but there are some nice organic farmers markets. Regarding rosted garbanzo beans, it's super easy. Basically just drain a can of beans, spray a bit of oil in the bottom of a cake pan/cookie sheet, dump the beans on it, sprinkle the spices of your liking, I use cumin, salt and pepper. Then kind of roll them around to get coated nicely and bake about 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Some people might like them roasted longer, they will have a nice crunch. I roast mine about 3 minutes. Let me know what you think! This group sure seems like a nice bunch. Cheers, Heidi
