Guest guest
- Vingar can remove spots caused by tomatoes. Soak spot with vinegar, then wash as usual. - To freeze eggs: Spray ice cube trays with oil. Beat eggs and add 3/4 tsp. sugar and 1/4 tsp. salt for every 1/2 dozzen. Pour into trays and treeze firm. Store in airtight containers in freezer. One cube equals one egg. - To keep rice or pasta from boilng over or sticking together, add a lump of butter or a few tsps of coolking oil to the water. - When preparing a caserole, make additional batches to freeze. Then, when there isn't tme to plan a eal, or when unexpected guests appear, simply take out a casserole from the freezer and pop it into your microwave. - To keep hot oil from splattering, sprinkle a little salt or folur into the pan before frying. - Use fresh lemonjuice to remove onion smell from your hands. - Don't soak vegetables after they've been sliced. They will loose much of their nutritional value. - To dress up buttered, cooked vegetables, sprinkle them with toasted sesame seed, toasted chopped nuts, canned french-fried onions, Bac-Os (they are not real bacon!), or slightly crushed seasoned croutons. - Instead of sugar in your tea, dissolve old-fashioned lemon drops, or hard mint candy into your hot tea. They will melt quickly, and keep the tea clean and brisk. - Try placing dried or fresh mint in the bottom of hot chocolate. - When serving hors d'oeuvres on a silver tray, protect it from the acids by covering it with a layer of leafy green lettuce.
