Hi Tom. Glad you survived the moving process;

i know how aweful that can be. Now are you still

in lovely Ashland? My Mom didn't make it there

this last trip as she was rather tired and not feeling

great. We managed to go to Crater Lake one day.

Ugh! i had no idea it was under construction

though~ it was a real mess, but the lake is spectacular

enough to make up for the inconvenience of

construction.

i also took my Mom's husband to Wildlife Images

along with my son even though Mom didn't want to

go. i think that place is a must-see for any animal

lover. i always learn something new each time i go.

This trip i learned that wolf packs require an Omega

wolf in order for the pack to stay together. i also learned

that crows walk and ravens hop; i always forget which

is which! *lol* Oh, and they have a beautiful bald

eagle female there now and she has a prosthetic [sp]

beak ~ simply amazing.

Thanks for clarifying about the unbeef broth. i noticed

they had the same ingredients but i guess i wasn't

paying close attention to the amounts. That would make

a big difference in the taste and the way one would use

it~ oops! :)

Yes, I'm still in Ashland. My sleeping place is back up in the

woodlands again. There have been bears going by, and my first night

back a fox was barking at something on the hillside. It worries me,

though, that there are no manzanita berries left. In the past, I've

nibbled on those into the spring, but now they're totally gone. The

bears and foxes both count on those. The bears are desparately going

after what's left of the blackberries now, where they normally avoid

those because of the briars. They're also eating acorns more now.

I'm not sure how the foxes are going to cope.

Sounds like a good visit from the folks. It's a funny concept:

construction around what is still a living volcano. And I never

thought about that regarding the crows and ravens, but, yes, I've

seen that.

That's one of the small weaknesses of Simply Heavenly: those similar

recipes which are easily confused....

Peace and love,

Tom
