Guest guest
Was at a " swap meet " (seemed more like a fleamarket, though) on Saturday and there was a fruit stand. Pomegranates were 5 for $4... I could not resist, especially at that price. ($2.49 for 1 at the grocer!) Anyone have any tasty dinner-type recipes with them, rather than just eating them straight up or in dessert? I'm trying to eliminate sugar, so I'd rather have a savory recipe if you have any, please! :-) *pomhugs* Amy
Guest guest
Wow, that was an awesome price, Amy. i love poms! i confess i have never cooked with them before. We always just eat them straight from the membranes. They were great snack foods for my kids when they were little; they just loved picking at them and getting their fingers all stained by the juice. They are really good for you, too. If you want some ideas, why don't you toss some into a nice spicy rice pilaf dish? i just bet the sweet-tart flavor of the berries would compliment so many dishes; even toss some into a salad. Okay, now you have me craving one! *lol* Be sure to let us know what you decide to try with them. ~ pt ~ Good, better, best.Ê Never let it rest.
