Guest guest
i have yet to try these, but i guess i had better since you say they are so delicious. Are there any Gardenburger products you don't like? i have had the fake chicken cutlets by them, and i thought they tasted odd at first, but after a while they sort of grew on me. ~ pt ~ " Lots of people hardly ever feel real soil under their feet, see plants grow except in flower pots, or get fare enough beyond the street light to catch the enchantment of a night sky studded with stars. Guest guest
Years ago, I had tried to go veggie/vegan, and all that I could find was the normal veggie burgers. It was hard to make a switch when I was watching others eating all the meat products I was so used to, but I couldn't have an equivalent. I have to say that I am very pleased with the selection of soy products out there in both the Gardenburger and Boca brands. I've tried the breakfast sausages (better cooked in a pan than just heated in a microwave--they're a little soft and mushy without cooking in an actual pan), the breaded cutlets (added some marinara on top and some pasta on the side...YUM!), the bratwurst (by Boca) is great with some saurkraut and rye bread. :-D And Boca also makes some great " Spicy " Chicken Patties (they look just like the normal chicken patties, but have a yellow ribbon running across the box that says " SPICY " :-D). These are fabulous. I used to be hooked on the Burger King Tendercrisp sandwiches before going 'veggie', and I'd always ask for the spicy sauce to be added, but these are a fantastic replacement by adding some fresh lettuce and tomato, and some yummy fresh bread. YUM! :-D I've seen that Gardenburger also makes meatballs now, but I saw on the box that they contain egg, and I'm trying to avoid that. It looked great from the picture on the box, though! LOL! :-D Some stores in our area (Super Target for one) is also selling a Gardenburger frozen dinner. Actually, there's two of them. I think one is a mexican enchilada of some sort, and I can't think of what the other is. They would be great for people to take to work with them for an easy lunch, though. I just think it's amazing how these companies like Gardenburger and Boca are able to make soy protein taste so close to actual meat! I really feel that this is why it's been so easy for me to make the switch this time. When my family (non-veggies) have pulled pork sandwiches, I can have my BBQ riblet sandwich. When my husband picks up sandwiches for the rest of the family from a fast-food place on his way home, he'll call ahead, and I can quickly make one of the spicy chicken patty sandwiches for myself, so we are all able to sit down together and have our meal. Happy Eating! :-D Pat ~ PT ~ <patchouli_troll wrote: i have yet to try these, but i guess i had better since you say they are so delicious.
